Projects

I joined Sourceforge in 2002 and Github in 2010 and contributed to many Open Source projects. The most significant projects are listed below:

Ethersex Logo

Ethersex is a community driven firmware with network support for 8-bit AVR microcontrollers.

I joined the core developer team in 2010. Since 2011 I am one of the active project maintainers.

WiFi Led Controller Logo

WiFi Led Controller is an APP to control LED strips, which are connected to a DIY IoT module, over WiFi. The software allows setting the colour, selecting from predefined lighting effects as well as defining your own effects. It even implements an engineer mode to send raw commands to the module.

The project was started by myself in 2015 and is my first APP for Android.

NodeMCU Logo

NodeMCU is an open-source firmware and development kit, that helps to prototype IoT products within a few Lua script lines.

I started to build IoT modules for home automation in 2015 and contribute to the project according to need.

FHEM Logo

FHEM is a Perl-based server program for home automation system, which is used for the automated operation of actuators such as light switches or heating, and the recording of sensor information such as room temperature or humidity.

I have built up my system for home automation in 2009 and expand it constantly.

Firebird Logo

Firebird is a relational database. The project is a commercially independent project of C and C++ programmers, technical advisors and supporters developing and enhancing a multi-platform relational database management system based on the source code released by Inprise Corp (now known as Borland Software Corp).

I joined the developer team in 2002 and left in 2004.

Stage2 Logo

Stage2 is an alternative firmware for KiSS DVD players which adds many cool functionality. It is based on the original firmware and still uses parts of it.

I joined the core developer team in 2007 and left in 2009. I did the Linux kernel enhancement and firmware bulding, and I still own a DP-500 on which Stage2 is running.

DP500-Serv Logo

DP500-Serv is a small media server program that shares media files with KiSS DVD players. It replaces the bundled PC-Link software and is designed to work on Unix/Linux platforms. DP500-Serv is completely written in C.

I joined the core developer team in 2005.

XZX-Pro Logo

XZX-Pro is a portable emulator of ZX Spectrum 48K/128K/+3 (8-bit home computers made by Sir Clive Sinclair) and clones for machines running Unix/Linux and the X Window system. XZX-Pro is completely written in C.

The project was started by myself in 1995. It initially was based on XZX 1.0.2 by Des Herriott but was completely rewritten by myself since then. Development stopped in 2006.

XZX-Pro Logo

ZxLink is a multipurpose program that allows you to connect a ZX Spectrum to a Unix/Linux machine and handles sound and serial up- and downloading. ZxLink is completely written in C.

The project was started by myself in 1997. Development stopped in 2002.
